I'm located in the quiet countryside between several cities and only 1 hour from London for recordings in person. Most often, however, I work from my own studio.
My pride and joy, my home studio is in a converted Victorian outbuilding in the very middle of the middle-of-nowhere.
Designed and refurbished specifically as a voice recording studio, the walls have deep insulation to minimise sound pollution from the outside and the interior has a carefully chosen combination of acoustic absorption panelling, high density foam tiles, felt, hanging baffles and no right-angles in order to minimise internal sound reflections.

Unlike the 193, the MKH416 is a small diaphragm condenser "Shotgun" microphone - a classic design.
It packs a little extra punch and sounds great on gaming and some commercial delivery.

Firstly, it's a Neumann... enough said.
Secondly, it has the flattest low frequency response of all Neumann microphones which is perfect for those with a deeper voice (...like me).
